Troubleshooting for symptoms

Hose blockage

Ice plug or dirt

Make sure to melt away ice or clear away any dirt that is stopping the flow.

If the tray/heating cable is connected to a power outlet, you can check if there is power in the outlet. Take for example a small table lamp and test. If there is no power, you can check that the fuse is intact.

Ice in the trough

Be sure to melt off ice or clear away any dirt that is blocking the flow in the hose.

Forgot to plug in the tray?

Connect heat source

Water runs from the adapter, where the heating cable goes in.
  • The rubber seal has come out – try pushing it back in.
  • The rubber seal has come out – it has broken, spare parts, see rubber seal adapter.

If you have forgotten to turn on the power to the heating cable, the rubber seal is pushed out when the water in the hose freezes. Both the hose and the cable are frost-proof and it should be really cold if the adapter is damaged.

  • The heating cable is cold, it seems that the hose is frozen – first you check that the cable is getting power, if it is freezing outside, then you put your fingers on the outdoor part for 10sec, then you immediately feel with the same fingers on the white part of the heating cable, it is about 10-15 degrees if it is ok.
  • If the hose is frozen, it is really hard
Is the tray/heating cable receiving power?

The water flowing from the outdoor unit ends up outside the trough

Move the tray so that the holes from which the water comes are covered by the tray. Wait for the next defrosting of the outdoor unit and fine-tune if necessary.

My Pancake tray is stuck under the outdoor unit

When you bought the tray there were 4 rubber spacers, they need to be mounted under vibration dampers. It is important for your property that you can adjust the trough freely, so that all the water is collected, but also for the durability of the troughs, it is important that the outdoor unit does not “hang” on the trough.
